Book & Media Distribution: Information Systems Strategic Planning
Project Overview
InfoWorks provided consultation and guidance to the Chief Information Officer and management team of a large, multi-divisional book and media distribution company in the development of a strategic planning process, methodology, and long-range information systems plan. Specific responsibilities included:
- Conducting interviews with the CEO and the company's chief operating officers to determine business direction and strategic priorities
- Facilitating a series of off-site workshops with key executives, users, and the MIS management team
- Assisting the MIS management team in the creation of a long-range systems plan to align MIS priorities and resources with strategic business objectives
- Working with the MIS management team to identify performance barriers and cultural issues within their organization
- Developing tactics and methodologies for MIS leadership to improve communication, project estimating, and overall delivery performance
- Continuing to work with the MIS management team through facilitation of quarterly strategic and tactical planning workshops
