James H. Clayton, III: Chairman

Professional Experience
Jim founded InfoWorks in January of 1997, and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He served as President from 1997 until December 2008. Under Jim’s direction, InfoWorks has built a stellar reputation for outstanding client service, has achieved profitability every year since its founding, and in 2006, company ownership was made available to all employees. Jim has balanced company growth with client satisfaction in a controlled manner that has completely avoided layoffs. His philosophy is that high employee morale leads to superior client satisfaction.

Prior to forming InfoWorks, Jim spent 32 years with IBM in Nashville in various management and marketing positions. At IBM, he managed several Global Services consulting practices over a three-state area. He also managed IBM’s business partner programs, and distribution and healthcare clients.

Jim is very active in the Nashville community. He serves on the Aquinas College Board of Directors as Chair of the Finance Committee, the Saint Thomas Health Services Fund Board of Directors as Chair of the Grants Committee, and on the Watkins College of Art and Design Board of Trustees.
